Reading -  Students spend independent reading time on Achieve 3000, reading articles, completing activities, and responding to thought questions.  We are continuing to work on summarizing in our own words when we read a paragraph or story.   This week we reviewed independent reading practices.  Each day we work through the Daily 5 which includes reading to self, reading to someone, word work, writing, and technology.

Writing - We have launched a writer's workshop in our classroom.  Students are working on finishing their writing about life inside of a snow globe based on the book The Snow Globe Family.

Math - This week we worked on representing and solving problems involving multiplication.  Students work daily on  number of the day, problem solving, math writing, and I-Pad activities that support the Common Core State Standards.  On Tuesdays and Thursday students also work on multiplication facts.

Inquiry - Our next unit of inquiry on weather will be coming soon.

We had fun decorating our door for Dr. Seuss Day!

I can read in pickle color too!

I can read in bed!

I can read about mice!

I can read about knees.
